Jonathan Seng, MSW
I’m Jonathan (he/him) and if you’re looking at my profile, chances are you’re looking for some help. Maybe it’s depression, perhaps it’s anxiety, or maybe something else. Life’s hard enough as it is and I’m here to help make it more manageable. You’re taking a huge step in choosing to put in that effort, and I will be there to put in mine. I have experience in providing therapy to adults dealing with a variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, addiction and substance use, and trauma. I also work with adults who are struggling through phases of life changes, gender identity, sexual identity, and interpersonal relationships. As a military spouse, I am also familiar with the unique culture, lifestyle, and challenges for military dependents and service members.
I approach therapy as a team effort, and both you and I are teammates each with our own role. You be the expert of your experiences, and I’ll be guiding us through exploring thoughts, emotions, and actions as we take a step in. We will work together to identify your strengths, limits, and challenges to help you achieve your goals—our goals. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed lens, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
I understand the importance of accessibility to mental health services, so I am offering virtual (video call) therapy sessions. At this time, I am unable to see clients in-person. If you live in Virginia and are searching for a telehealth therapist who is culturally sensitive and experienced in working with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) those in the LGBTQ+ and Asian American communities, then I invite you to reach out for a consultation. Let's work together to help you achieve your goals and live a more fulfilling life.
